At c2c we are proud of our record of consistently delivering industry-leading performance for the communities we serve in South Essex and East London.
When the franchise began in 1996 the situation was very different. The then ‘Misery Line’ had old and often unreliable trains, performance was inconsistent and the service needed major investment. The region’s economy was also different in many ways. Thames Gateway developments were in their infancy, the idea of the Olympics returning to the UK was barely a gleam in anyone’s eye and the regeneration of many places along the c2c route had yet to begin. Fifteen years on and so much has changed – both your railway and the communities it serves.
I hope you agree that the benefits of new investment and a determination to deliver excellent services are clear. What was once the Misery Line is now widely-regarded as one of the best rail services in the country:
But we recognise that there is still more to do. We have always sought to work with our passengers and local stakeholders to continually improve our service standards and play our part in the growth of the Essex Thameside area. This is why we have formed a Passenger Panel and spend so much time working with members of our local community. Our ambition is – and has always been – to be widely recognised as the country’s leading operator while remaining rooted in the communities we serve.
So we want to hear your views on how we could provide a better service to you and your constituents. What improvements would you like to see? What more can c2c do to support economic prosperity in South Essex and East London? The Government will shortly start the competition to re-let c2c’s train services from mid-2013. This is therefore the perfect time for you to help us shape c2c for the future, to realise the aspirations of both individual passengers and the wider community.
Please do let us know your views by both completing our on-line survey and our feedback form, links for which can be found above.
Yours sincerely
